The habitat for the 2007 Schoolyard Wildlife Habitat Contest winner was constructed on October 11-12, 2007.  Several teachers brought their class out to watch the progress being made and to ask questions.

Materials and labor for the habitat were donated by: The Pond Gnome, Mountain States Wholesale Nursery, West Valley Rock, Horizon irrigation products, Ewing Irrigation, and Sun Country Landscape.  Funding was raised through the annual Parade of Ponds tour.

BEFORE AFTER

On November 1st, Zuni Hills held a dedication ceremony for their new habitat, which included the release by Liberty Wildlife of a rescued Red-Tail Hawk.

The ladies from Liberty Wildlife brought some feathered guests.

Barbi Holdeman, Director of the Foundation, thanked the judges for their time and the sponsors for their generosity.

Michelle Wagner read the winning essay that she and the other kids wrote.

The stream is brought to life.

One of the Liberty ladies talked about how important the habitat is.

Michelle receives the honor of helping to release the hawk.

The hawk is a little anxious.

She's a beauty!

And she's off! Best wishes!
