RESOURCES FOR SCHOOLYARD WILDLIFE HABITATS AND/OR OUTDOOR CLASSROOMS

 

Heritage Funds GrantEligible applicants include the federal government or any federal department or agency, Indian tribe, this state, all departments, agencies, boards and commissions of this state, counties, school districts, cities, towns, all municipal corporations, and any other political subdivisions of this state.  All Heritage Grant Applications must be received prior to 5 p.m. on the last working day of November each year.

 

Lowe's Outdoor Classroom GrantLowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation, International Paper and National Geographic Explorer! classroom magazine have partnered to create an outdoor classroom grant program to provide schools with additional resources to improve their science curriculum by engaging students in hands-on experiences outside the traditional classroom. All K-12 public schools in the United States are welcome to apply.

 

Maricopa County Master Gardeners.  Master Gardeners can teach you about tree pruning, plant and weed identification, landscape design, etc.  It's an all-volunteer desert-educated force dedicated to teaching people to select, place and care for plants in an environmentally responsible manner based on research specific to the low desert.  And they've been cultivating plants, people and communities for over 26 years!
